What is an MTO-approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course?
An MTO-approved BDE course is a driver education program that is officially recognized by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO). It is designed to help new drivers learn the necessary skills and knowledge to become safe and confident on the road
What does the BDE course include?
Our BDE course includes 20 hours of online learning, 10 hours of online home link activities, and 10 hours of in-car lessons with a certified driving instructor. Pick-up and drop-off for in-car lessons are also included, along with all MTO certification fees.
How long does the BDE course take to complete?
The course is designed to be flexible. On average, the online modules can be completed at your own pace, while the in-car lessons are typically scheduled over several weeks to ensure thorough learning.
Can I take the course online?
Yes! We offer 20 hours of interactive online lessons that you can complete from home, at your own pace. The home link activities are also conducted online to reinforce your learning.
Is the BDE course required for a G1 license?
No, the BDE course is not required to obtain your G1 license, but completing the course can help you prepare for your G2 road test and may qualify you for insurance discounts.
Do I need to provide my own car for the in-car lessons?
No, we provide a fully insured vehicle for all in-car lessons. However, if you choose to take the road test in your own car, we can provide guidance on preparing your vehicle for the test.
What is the cost of the BDE course?
